Our courses are built on many years of experience, training and development to ensure you are fully trained and highly skilled as a therapeutic sound practitioner.
Soundsphere now offers two professional courses:
Alembic Sound Foundations
This course teaches students how to deliver beautiful sessions for groups. You will learn to play a wide variety of instruments and creatively weave the sounds, hold space, understand the theory and emerge as a powerful sound healer.
Dates and experience
The course is currently run online and the next group begins 2nd Oct 2025.
Some previous experience in therapy is preferred (not essential) and no previous musical experience is required.
About the course
Alembic Sound Foundations is more than a course — it’s a journey into sound as both a healing art and a path of self-discovery. Over three months, you’ll explore instruments, intention, and presence, learning how to weave them into immersive experiences while cultivating the skills, awareness, and confidence to hold safe, nurturing space for others.
This course is a natural evolution of the Certificate in Creative Therapeutic Sound that Suzy of Soundsphere Scotland has been delivering since 2015. Her graduates are recognised as some of the best in the field.
If you are seeking a deep, supported dive into therapeutic sound — and a course that honours both practical skills and spiritual elements — this training is for you.
What to expect
Over three months you’ll be guided through a comprehensive introduction to sound healing, sound therapy, and therapeutic sound practices. You’ll learn how to:
- Play and harmoniously blend a carefully curated selection of instruments — including Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, healing voice, shamanic drum, and various percussion — while exploring your own creativity to develop a style that is uniquely yours.
- Hold safe, intentional, and nurturing space for groups and individuals.
- Build the foundations of a meaningful sound practice — whether personal or professional.
- Engage with home study, written work, and an exam to consolidate your learning. This training is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who wish to refine their skills and deepen their sound journey.

Course Dates: 2nd October – December 2025, plus follow on submissions.
Occasional Thursdays (6.30–9pm) and Sundays (10.30am–5.30pm, with a break 12.30–2.30pm) – full dates in info pack.
Opening Ceremony: Thursday 2nd October
Delivered live online from the Soundsphere studio & Yurt, with additional self-led modules and practice tutorials.
Investment: £1,150 (instalments available) plus your own budget for instrument purchase.

Graduates of this course will also be eligible to join the Alembic Sound Diploma launching in 2026 — an advanced training in a unique 1:1 sound therapy method.
Soundsphere Advanced Diploma in Alembic Sound
This course is for students who have already undergone some training in sound and are proficient in playing the instruments and holding space.
The Diploma in Alembic Sound is an advanced training for those called to practice sound therapy at depth. Building on the Foundations course, this programme teaches Suzy’s unique 1:1 Alembic method — a blend of therapeutic sound, intuitive space-holding, and spiritual insight. With modules on advanced practice, ethics, and embodied transformation (, this Diploma equips practitioners with the skills, confidence, and recognition to offer profound sound therapy professionally.
The method aims to support transformation and healing for clients in whichever way is most suitable for them.
Students will learn about ancient healing maps, sacred symbols, develop advanced techniques with the instruments and how to facilitate a wonderful treatment.
