DESCRIPTION:Come along to the magical Casa Colibri\, our wonderful Soundsphere yurt in Peebles\, Scottish Borders for a deep and supportive sound medicine experience.\nGuests will find a warm welcome\, the fire will be on (if needed!) and the afternoon will include a talk and sharing\, medicine cards and a one hour deep sound journey to bring peace\, replenishment and rest.\n\nSuzy Nairn will host the session and weave the sounds of Himalayan bowls\, crystal bowls\, gong\, drum and voice to take you to the space you need. Can help reduce tension\, fatigue\, anxiety and pain and help improve sleep patterns and balance blood pressure.\n\nThe sessions allow a small group (max  to gather and guests must read the attending instructions regarding what to bring\, parking and arrival etc\, thank you!\n\nAddress is included in the confirmation email.\nComfortable cushions for lying on are provided plus blankets etc.Guests can also choose to bring their own cosy blanket\, pillow/cushion\, eye mask (optional)\, journal and water bottle.\n\n**These sessions may not be suitable if you have frequency or sound induced epilepsy or migraines\, or if you are less than 3 months pregnant. SUMMARY:Inspiring life\, Sound Healing Chamber\, Peebles
DESCRIPTION:A special opportunity to experience the sound healing chamber with Suzy Nairn of Soundsphere in the Eastgate theatre auditorium\, and this event is in aid of the Inspiring Life charity to support mental health. Suzy will give a short talk on the benefits of sound healing and then you will be immersed into a beautiful sound journey/sound meditation/sound bath – a magical tapestry of sound to bring healing\, rest\, respite\, relaxation\, the ease of physical pain… Suzy will weave the soundscape with crystal and Himalayan singing bowls\, soothing voice\, healing drum and gong. There are floor space tickets available where guests can choose to bring a comfy nest with them and lay down fully\, or some seats around the side can be requested instead. DESCRIPTION:The Certificate in Creative Therapeutic Sound is a 11-day course spread over 7 months and includes in person teaching\, online support\, tutorials\, individual life coaching\, written assessments\, a case study\, a research project and a practical exam. It is a deep and transformational course which supports students in accessing and exploring their creativity\, strengthening their whole self and becoming a highly skilled and professional sound healer/therapeutic sound practitioner. \nThe focus of the course is to teach students how to weave beautiful sound journeys for groups and is designed to ensure students are expertly trained in all aspects of delivering therapeutic sound and are fully prepared to offer powerful sessions and be able to hold the space well. Students learn about the history and theory behind sound healing\, explore\, practice and become proficient in the playing of a multitude of instruments\, they develop playing skills and techniques\, so they can offer the most appropriate sounds for a group\, and undertake their own practice and study to deepen their knowledge and technique. \nIt really is a wonderful journey\, students make friends for life within the course\, their own self is enhanced and emboldened\, and they often undergo their own healing as part of the experience. \nIn addition\, Suzy is now offering individual life coaching as part of the programme for each student\, as well as tutorials\, and the support of an Assistant Tutor Sara Best. Sara will also provide student support and some extra sessions within the teaching days and online between the weekends. \nStudents who successfully complete the Certificate are eligible to apply to study the Diploma in Alembic Sound which will be launching in the near future to share the Soundsphere Sound Therapy 1:1 treatment method. \nThe Certificate course takes place over four x 3-day weekends (Fri\, Sat & Sun exam weekend which is just Sat & Sun). Following the teaching days there is homework\, ongoing student support\, group tutorials\, a final practical exam a few months later\, and then a closing day the day after the exams. Students are also required to deliver a case study with a written report\, plus the submission of a research project. The research project is a great way to develop your own area of interest and support is given into choosing the subject. \nThis course covers many aspects of the theory and history of sound as a healing modality. It introduces students to essential tools such as Tibetan singing bowls\, healing voice\, medicine drum\, percussion\, and crystal singing bowls. Students will gain skills\, techniques and knowledge to ensure that they become skilled in the playing and weaving of these. Throughout the course students will explore the different ways these instruments can be used individually or blended and will also cover musical intervals and musicality. In addition\, as the course is also a journey of self-discovery it can help develop a students’ strength\, vision and purpose. \nOver the years I have been asked by many people to come and work with their school… or Parkinson’s group… or Alzheimer’s group…or on a retreat…. or to offer sound with yoga…. or support children with special needs to name just a few – there is a need for more people to be able to take sound as a therapeutic tool into the wider community! And nowadays many people have heard of sound healing and are realising its benefits. I am passionate about anyone wishing to deliver sound healing undergoes training as there really is a lot more to it than hitting a few bowls…. \nI have seen the way sound can cleanse\, support and energise people after even a short session and this course was developed to meet those needs. I am regularly told of how my sessions have helped people and this is why I am so happy to teach others to take this wonderful service into the community. \n This course will be of interest to:  \n* Individuals who would like to take sound into communities and groups\, yoga classes\, public events as well as schools\, hospitals\, hospices and care centres. \n*Therapists wishing to use sound with clients (although this course is not a Sound Therapy individual treatment method and the Diploma needs to be studied for that). \n* Carers\, counsellors or support workers who work with different communities and want to bring something new as additional support.  \n* Musicians looking to incorporate the healing aspects of sound and music.  \n*Anyone who wishes to develop themselves and take this journey within a supportive and safe space. The course can be done purely as self development and without completing the assignments and a Certificate of Attendance is provided in that case. \n*Students who wish to study the Soundsphere Diploma in future​. \nOn completion of the course each student will have a deep understanding of how they can use sound in their own lives and communities\, host group sound relaxations or journeys\, or blend it with their existing therapies. \nCOURSE FEES: The course costs £1700 (£1600 if paid in full in advance) and can be paid in instalments. \n\nDATES and VENUE: The main teaching will take place in Casa Colibri\, Soundsphere Yurt and HQ\, Peebles EH45 9DB. Suzy is delighted to be back in Edinburgh offering these monthly sound healing chambers. Many guests have profound experiences and love the addition of the amplification to enhance the sounds no matter where they were resting-lying down or seated. These sessions can bring deep and powerful shifts for guests\, offer insight\, a place to rest\, rejuvenate and they have also been shown to reduce physical pain\, anxiety\, tension and even settle high blood pressure and help with sleep patterns. So you are invited now to take the time to reduce stress and rest deeper than ever before which can help people to cope with life’s challenges. The powerful sounds and skilled weaving of gongs\, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls lull your mind body and spirit into a physically restful state\, releasing stress and tension\, nurturing your soul and easing mental fog.\n\nTHE EVENING begins with a short talk some from Suzy\, her reflection on the time of year\, moon cycle or anything that feels appropriate and significant. There may also be an exercise such as aura cleansing or group toning. Then you will wrap up with your cosy blanket and rest as Suzy immerses and nurtures you in a healing soundscape – a tapestry of sound will support you as you are surrounded in frequencies and vibrations\, helping you to journey to the other realms\, cleansing and de-stressing your physical\, emotional\, mental or spiritual bodies and supporting your growth and development. After a period of silence there will be an opportunity to share (optional) and enjoy some grounding chocolate!. In addition each month a small singing bowl and instrument shop will be there and payments can be given by card.\nPlease bring a mat\, a cosy blanket (or 2)\, cushion (also eye mask if you choose) \,a bottle of water and come along for 7.25pm when the doors will open.\nFor advance booking the 2 hour session costs £30\, or £50 for 2 people\, £15 seated around centre circle or £10 in the pews.\n\nDATES\nFirst Friday every month\nThe monthly evenings are hosted by Suzy Nairn of Soundsphere who is a Practitioner of Sound Therapy (DipST) with many years of experience to weave a magical evening.\nSuzy is the owner of Soundsphere Scotland launched in 2009 and has been offering short courses\, group journeys\, recordings\, healing music concerts and individual treatments in Peebles and around Scotland since then. She is also a member of the Board of the International Therapeutic Sound Association and runs professional training through her Soundsphere Sound Healing School in Scotland (former founder of the ANSU School of Sound) and offers a Certificate in Creative Therapeutic Sound for small groups (max 5) at a time from her premises in Peebles. The course is highly regarded as one of the best for producing highly skilled and professional sound therapists who can deliver powerful and beautiful sessions for groups.
