Email Info@soundsphere.org.uk \nThe Certificate in Creative Therapeutic Sound will teach students how to weave beautiful sound journeys to work with groups (a follow on Diploma level course will be available in 2022 to share the Soundsphere Sound Therapy 1:1 treatment method). The Certificate course will take place over two blocks of 3 days with homework in between\, ongoing student support\, group tutorials and a final practical exam a few months later. Students are also required to deliver a case study and a written report\, plus the submission of a research project. The research project is a great way to develop your own area of interest and support is given into choosing the subject. \nThis course covers many aspects of the theory and history of sound as a healing modality. It introduces students to essential tools such as Tibetan singing bowls\, healing voice\, medicine drum\, percussion\, and crystal singing bowls. Students will gain skills\, techniques and knowledge to ensure that they become proficient in the playing and weaving of these. Throughout the course students will explore the different ways these instruments can be used individually or blended and will also cover musical intervals and musicality. In addition\, the course is a journey of self-discovery and can develop students’ strength\, vision and purpose. \nWHO WILL THE COURSE SUIT?\nOver the years I have been asked by many people to come and work with their school… or Parkinson’s group… or Alzheimer’s group…or on a retreat…. or to offer sound with yoga…. or support children with special needs to name just a few – there is a need for more people to be able to take sound as a therapeutic tool into the wider community! I have also seen the way sound can cleanse\, support and energise individuals after even a short session and this course was developed to meet some of those needs. \nThis course will be of interest to: \n\nIndividuals who would like to take sound into community and specialist groups\, yoga classes\, private groups as well as schools\, hospitals\, hospices and care centres\nCarers\, counsellors or support workers who work with different communities\nMusicians looking to incorporate the healing aspects of sound and music *Anyone who wishes to develop themselves and take this journey within a supportive and safe space\n\nStudents will be required to do weekly home practice and study and will be assessed through ongoing observation\, written work and a final presentation/exam. On completion of the course each student will have a deep understanding of how they can use sound in their own lives and communities\, host group sound relaxations or journeys\, or blend it with their existing therapies. \nSUBJECTS INCLUDE: (in addition to playing techniques): \nCreating healing soundscapes ~ Dynamics ~ Harmonies and dissonance ~\nExploring different tools and instruments ~Support for emotional release and challenges ~ Chakra system\nMedicine Wheel ~Sound as an ancient medicine ~ Performance and holding the group space ~ Sacred space cleansing and preparation ~ Preparation of self. \nWHAT YOU WILL NEED\nINSTRUMENTS: The minimum instruments you will need will be 3 Tibetan singing bowls\, a shamanic/frame drum and some percussion.\nFor the first block you will need your singing bowls and drum BUT I have plenty to use if you don’t have any yet\, or please get in touch if you need any advice on buying some and I do have some for sale here.\nStudents bring what they have to the first class (or you can use the Soundsphere ones) and you can always buy more after that as then you will have an idea of what you are looking for. I do not advise rushing out to buy lots of instruments and you can add to your collection throughout your learning. \nThe main teaching will take place over 2 blocks of 3 days in Peebles and based in Casa Colibri (Soundsphere yurt)\, plus an additional two days later for exam and closing. \nIf numbers increase we may move to a local hall. Initially I am offering the course to 5 students.\nModules 1-3: Friday 24th to Sunday 26th June 2022\, 10-5pm each day. Singing bowls\, Healing Voice\, Shamanic drum.\nModules 4-6: Friday 26th-28th August 2022\, 10-5pm each day. Percussion\, Crystal Bowls\, Weaving the sounds and practice.\nThere will then be an additional 2 days a few months later for the exam day and closing day. Dates are confirmed with each group for this. \nCost £990 or pay in full £940
